I finally got round to making a how to video. I've been meaning to for ages. I made this layout as I went along and it only took about 2 hours. So proud of my self because normally it takes me a few nights to complete one and I have to get everything sorted and chosen before I even begin to think about gluing stuff down. So I think this is the motivation I need to get scrapbooking done, since I never really seem to do much lately. Maybe I should make some Project Life videos, I'm 4 months behind on that. I used Adobe Premiere Pro and my boyfriend had to teach me how to use it, I had no idea how to use any video editing programmes for a Mac. Ar I miss the simpleness of Windows Movie Maker lol.
We got 2 kittens a week ago. They're sisters and they're adorable little mischief makers.
I've spent a lot of nights throughout my life begging my mum to let me get a kitten and I always thought I would have to wait until I moved out of home. When I was little I begged and cried while my Mum just sat there and ignored me. She didn't care that she was taking away a childhood privilege, to let me have a constant friend by my side and a way of learning responsibility. And 3 weeks ago when I asked again, she said 'meh'. Huge shock lol. Then the next weekend when we went looking around pet shelters, my Dad asked her again and she said 'do what you want'. It was so exciting. My dad thinks that because she has early onset dementia she probably forgot that she hates animals.
But anyway, these are the 2 little cuties.
This one climbed into my hoodie on her first night in her new home. These girls are so friendly that they wanted to play as soon as they got home, instead of hiding in the corner.
And this is what their coats look like. They looked pretty much exactly the same when we first saw them but now it's easy to tell the difference. Still trying to work out their personalities since they're similar in that way too. One meows a lot more and the other sighs quite a bit.
Sometimes they get annoying, like when they keep walking over my macbook and messing up the screen, but when they show their affection, it's so sweet. Although it does kinda hurt when they lick my face with their sandpaper tongues, but I guess that comes under the whole 'love hurts' saying, literally, lol.
My last mouse died about a month ago. So we don't have to worry about the kittens getting at them.
Over my 2 week holiday break I caught up on some scrapbooking and finally did some more layouts. It was actually my homework lol. I'm working on a scrapbooking magazine for my course assignment and I needed new layouts to put in it.
So these are my latest layouts, and I kinda went crazy with my Cameo and punches on a few of them lol.

These are some pictures I made in Illustrator that I put in my Cameo library. They're kinda small but you can save them and stretch them a bit if needed and they'll cut fine.

Yep, I have 8 pages of PL to share. The first 2 are from a road trip back in January and after I finished them I decided to skip ahead to February because it was taking to long (I still haven't finished the journaling eek). So after I catch up I'll go back and finish them.
This is the fold out of the top right corner slot. I stapled the Wendy's receipt to it.
I'm still 3 and a half months behind lol.

About 3 weeks ago my awesome new cameo arrived (in a huge package lol). I haven't had much time to use it because of course work and social life, so I've only mucked around with it a little. It arrived with an American plug but luckily my Dad happened to have an adapter so I was able to start playing around with it straight away.
I turned 22 2 weeks ago, and the cake picture above is what my boyfriend made. He made it to look like my cameo lol. He said it didn't quite turn out how he planned, but I still think it's amazing. The last time I had a cake like this was a swimming pool cake for my 16th haha.
I had photos of me blowing out the candles and from the zoo but when i was copying them to my mac, the card reader died and the card became corrupt, so I think I've lost those photos for good. Still hoping I can find a way to get them back, since a couple of programmes I downloaded didn't work :(. So that plus waking up on my birthday with a flu and raining when I went to the zoo made it a slighly horrible weekend lol.
I cut out this chandelier to see what the cameo can do. I'm pretty amazed that it can cut out really delicate shapes.
And these are 2 of my current obsessions:
Studio Calico wood veneer shapes
And washi tape

This is 1 of the assignments that I've made. It's a comic book based on a song by my favourite band and it's held together with perfect binding. It looks just like a real comic book lol. It was super fun but also super stressful to make.
With this assignment i learnt book binding, hard cover and perfect binding. I think I'll try out those techniques to make some mini albums.
I'm going to spend this weekend doing some project life catching up. I'm 3 months behind, eek.
I've been busy with project life, december daily, course and hanging out with Sam, and it felt good to finally sit down and work on a layout. I felt like messing around with misting, so i used a frame thingy from a pack of diecuts and covered up parts of it, misting just 1 or 2 frames at a time. This was the finished result.
I finished this about 2-3 weeks ago. Overall I'm kinda happy with how it turned out. I really wanted to use stitching but didn't want it to show up on the other side. All he pages are bound together with masking tape, so it doesn't fold out flat but still opens up nicely.
Happy International Scrapbooking Day
